2026-2027 Enrollment Process

Step 1: Apply Online

Complete the online application for your student. IMPORTANT: Ensure that you select the 2026/27 school year on the application Year Selection page. Families that complete the 2025/26 enrollment application will not be processed for 2026/27 enrollment.

Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our District Office Registrars.

Aeries is Excelsior’s student information system where you can view grades, schedules, attendance, and important student information throughout the school year. Families will receive an email with instructions to create their account.
Log in to ParentSquare
ParentSquare is Excelsior’s main communication platform for calls, texts, and emails. Families can customize how they would like to receive school communication. You will receive an email with instructions to activate your account.
Attend Orientation
Orientation will take place prior to the first day of school and is a great opportunity for students to receive their schedule, Chromebook, supplies, and meet teachers and staff.

Enrollment in on-campus classes is subject to availability. If a class reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and enrolled in Independent Study until space becomes available. To learn more about Priority class registration scroll down to the bottom under 'Additional Information'

Immunization Requirements

Completion of online enrollment requires parents/guardians to provide verification of up-to-date immunization records to the central enrollment registrars. Proof of immunization records can be uploaded directly into the online application located on the "Student Documents" page. Immunization records can also be emailed to enrollment@excelsior.com or you may bring in the records to your school site.

Office Hours: 8:00am- 3:00pm

Students will not be enrolled unless their immunization record is submitted and is up to date.

*Students who qualify under the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and Foster Students have the right to immediate enrollment without delay if they are unable to provide immunization records. Students receiving Special Education Services are exempt from providing immunization records.

Expulsions

If you are expelled for any offenses listed in §§48915(a)&(c), you may not enroll in school in another district during your expulsion period (§48915.2). You may only enroll in a county community school, juvenile court school, or community day school (§48915.2(a)). If you are expelled for any other offense, you can enroll in school in another district during your expulsion period. You or your parent/guardian must inform the new district that you were expelled from your previous school and the governing board shall hold a hearing to determine whether you pose a continuing danger to other students or school employees (§§48915.1(a)&(b)). The governing board may decide to deny enrollment, permit enrollment, or permit conditional enrollment in a regular school program or other educational program (§48915.1(d)).

Enrollment/Disenrollment Notice

Charter schools are not allowed to discourage a pupil from enrolling or seeking to enroll in the charter school because the pupil exhibits any characteristics such as students with disabilities, academically low achieving, English learners, neglected or delinquent, homeless, socially economically disadvantaged, foster youth, or based on nationality, race, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. Charter schools are not allowed to request a pupil's records before enrollment or encourage a child who is enrolled in a charter school to disenroll or transfer to another school. A parent, guardian, or pupil (18 years or older) may file a Charter School Complaint Form to the authorizing entity if they suspect the charter school is in violation of Education Code Section 47605(e)(4).

Process for Building On-Campus Classes

Process for Building On-Campus Classes

Excelsior strives to provide a flexible and accommodating learning environment for all students. However, it's important to understand that on-campus classes are subject to availability. Enrollment into these classes can be limited due to factors such as classroom size, and course demand.

During priority registration, once an on-campus class reaches its maximum capacity, we implement a waitlist for subsequent enrollments. Priority registration is determined based on each student’s enrollment date to ensure that students have an equitable chance to secure a spot in their desired on-campus course(s).

In the event that a student does not secure a spot in an on-campus class, the student will be enrolled into the independent study course, supported by a credentialed teacher and dedicated Independent Study teacher. Additionally, these students will be enrolled into a zoom class (for Math and English), allowing them to continue their education with structured support. Furthermore, if a student is unable to enroll into their desired on-campus class, they will automatically be placed on a waitlist for that class(es). This waitlist allows them to be moved into the class should a spot become available.

Should a spot become available for the student's desired on-campus class, the parent/guardian will receive a phone call from the school to notify them of the availability and confirm whether they would like to proceed with enrollment into the on-campus class. Parents/guardians will have 48 hours to respond to this confirmation. Once confirmed, the parent/guardian will receive a start date, and the student's new schedule will be provided. All relevant information including access to the new course in Canvas which includes their new teacher's contact information and course syllabus and the student and parent/guardian Aeries portal will be updated within 24 hours of the student's start date. Your student's grade from their prior course will also be transferred into the new on-campus course gradebook.

It is important to note that moving students from the waitlist into on-campus classes is an ongoing process throughout the year. However, transfers into on-campus classes will not occur within the last two weeks of the quarter or semester.
